Inefficiently controlled forest fires result in loss of life and property.
We plan to assess the potential effectiveness of fire breaks in preventing the spread of forest fires depending on these factors:
+ Type of tree being burned.
+ Humidity of the environment.
+ Wind velocity.
+ Other weather conditions (recent precipitation, ambient temperature, etc.)
+ Location of the fire breaks.
We intend to use data from real forest fires to compare our simulation's results to real world situations. Once we have a good model, we hope to simulate fake fires based on raw environment data of unburned forests to study how the destructive effects of forest fires might be minimized.
