Area of Science: Microbiology/Disease Vectors

Abstract: The project that we will be doing this year is a model of a virus that will be spreading across the nation. We will be calculating how fast this virus spreads and how it reaches certain places to infect a population. We will cover these topics: how many people there are in the United States, how many will be infected, the rate of infection, the vectors of the disease, and who's immune system would fight it off.
We hope to better understand how a virus works, make a model of a virus spreading in a population, and find a means to stop the infection.
Our project will be worked on Starlogo, and will rely upon our research of viruses and how they spread.
