Challenge Team Abstract
We plan to study moonquakes, their causes, and their effects on the moon. We predict that mainly asteroids that strike the moon cause moonquakes, but we are not sure if there are any other factors that contribute to moonquakes. We hope to learn how moonquakes compare with earthquakes, and this is what we intend to model. This information will be useful if there are ever any colonies on the moon.
By knowing more about moonquakes scientists would be able to prepare in a more effective manner for the rigors of living on the moon. We plan to use satellite data on the moon and impacts that have occurred there. Then we hope to model them compared to earthquakes.
